Designers Sael and Micol Bartolucci united in 2009 to create Isotrope Design.

Born and raised in the Italian artistic and renaissance city of Florence, the two sisters found appreciation in art and architecture at an early age.

“My first memory of true Italian design and creativity is of my father turning our family’s 16th century olive press into a kitchen table. He cut a large semi-circle of glass suspending it on top of the press with a metal structure creating an unusually beautiful and modern functional piece, incorporating the history and integrity of the house.”

Micol has worked both for interior designers, and as a set decorator in Hollywood, while Sael graduated with a BA in Textile & Print Design at Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia, where she also worked with a number of mediums such as wood, paper and acrylics focusing on hand drawing and silk screening.

Sael went on to create textiles for apparel and interior design in Los Angeles.

Their love and passion for patterns and interiors culminated in the creation of the Isotrope collection.
